HR Advisor

Job Brief:

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will deliver a proactive and customer focused, first-class HR service to one of our largest clients in Oxford. You will be passionate about giving commercially focussed pragmatic HR advice, within the remit of the legislative framework. You will support the CPO and HRBP as required, providing effective support, guidance, and advice to managers and colleagues on a wide variety of HR matters, such as employee relations, policy and process.

 

This is a role where you will be expected to own, identify and suggest changes to HR process to create best in class HR delivery for this client.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Acting as a point of contact for day to day issues, you will assist onsite by guiding and supporting employees and managers with day-to-day employee issues in line with the clients best practice and employment legislation. Responding to any queries or problems and managing their expectations, seeking guidance as appropriate.

 

·       You will advise and support managers on all aspects of recruitment and selection, including drafting job adverts, screening CV’s, interviewing and supporting with offer stage formalities, ensuring a great candidate experience.

 

·       Supporting the HRBP (and at times leading as appropriate) capability investigations including grievance, disciplinaries, and appeals as well as redundancy situations. You will take meeting notes and assist with letter production, to manage formal processes within the legislative framework.

 

·       Responsible for supporting the client to manage their performance evaluation methods. You will provide line managers with guidance and support on the appropriate usage of the employee appraisal system. You will ensure job descriptions are in place, relevant and up to date throughout the company. 

 

·       Responsible for managing all elements of HR process and workflow, to ensure best in class efficient and effective processes. This will enable the accurate upkeep of data relating to any aspect of the employee lifecycle, for example, right to work, onboarding, offboarding, remuneration changes.

 

·       You will be responsible for managing relevant HR information systems/platforms to access, input, and complete data. You will provide support and guidance to enable them to manage their data in a compliant manner. This includes monitoring and actioning all incoming communications to the HR inbox, liasing with relevant internal colleagues as appropriate. You will be able to interrogate data to produce reports and management information which can be used to inform clients and the HR team.

 

·       Assist the CPO/HRBP draft employment contracts and letters for clients, coordinate any changes to terms and conditions, such as salary increases, job title changes, policy changes, ensuring that the HR system is updated accordingly.

 

·       Act as point of contact for benefits queries, liaising with brokers and third parties to enrol employees into relevant schemes, update clients with new products and support the HRBP with any scheme review.

 

Essential Experience:

·       Excellent interpersonal skills, organisational and administrative skills

·       As an individual you will be hardworking, reliable, IT literate, able to work to strict deadlines and be a proactive team player with the ability to liaise and work with senior team members.

·       Proven work experience within an HR environment

·       A strong knowledge of employment legislation

·       Strong communication and relationship building capabilities.

·       Driven and determined.

·       Practical and logical, with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.

·       The ability to work within a variety of different industries, whilst maintaining ongoing relationships.

 

Desired Experience:

·       CIPD qualified/part qualified is desirable but not essential, although hands-on working experience is!

·       Some previous experience working within a multi–functional organization would be an advantage.
