About the role:

You will partner with site management teams from across 2 locations (Holme Upon Spalding Moor and Peterborough), building strong relationships and ensuring that they are confident and capable in people management. You will be the key HR contact for these managers and will foster an excellent team reputation, supporting them to forward plan and think strategically about their people.


You will advise and coach managers on complex people management issues, including disciplinary and grievances. You will also take the lead on complex change management processes such as restructuring and workforce planning.


You will also support the Group HRD and wider People team to deliver on a range of exciting projects and developments over the next year, as specified in our HR strategy, and reviewing our policies and people practices ensuring they are fit for purpose and in line with current best practice.


Main Responsibilities:

·      Partner with business leaders to understand organisational goals and develop HR strategies to support them.

·      Support the development of and manage people related projects. For example, development of operational people plans and change management projects.

·      Collaborate with hiring managers and the recruitment partner to identify staffing needs and initiate the recruitment process.

·      Provide guidance on talent development, succession planning, and career pathing.

·      Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, offering guidance on HR policies, conflict resolution, and performance management.

·      Provide advice and guidance to managers on employee relations issues, working to ensure a fair and inclusive workplace, supporting managers at formal hearings where appropriate.

·      Identify training needs within the organisation and work with the wider team to implement relevant programs across all our locations.

·      Support career development initiatives, leadership, and apprenticeship programs.

·      Provide guidance on benefits and employee well-being programs.

·      Utilise HR data and analytics to identify trends and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

·      Contribute to the development of HR metrics and reports for senior leadership.

Required knowledge & experience:

Education / Professional Qualifications required for the position:

•       CIPD qualification or equivalent experience

•       Proven experience as an HRBP or similar role, preferably in manufacturing

•       Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

•       Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

•       Demonstrated experience in managing complex employee relations issues.

•       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


Additional important requirements:

•       In-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.

•       Holds a valid driving licence for driving in the UK.

•       Advantageous to have prior experience of working with unions.


Contract Type:

Full time permanent


Work Location:

Hybrid 3 days per week on site / 2 days per week at home. You will be based at our Holme Upon Spalding Moor location and be required to travel once a week to Peterborough. You may occasionally be asked to travel to other locations e.g. Head Office in Chester.


Salary and Benefits:

Salary                           £45,000
