We have a great opportunity for a HR Advisor to work alongside the HR Manager for Volker Stevin out of the Preston office. 

As the HR advisor you will be involved in the following:

  • Provide employment law advice and guidance for all of VolkerStevin’s operations.
  • Support line managers in the proactive management of all casework issues including formal and informal disciplinary and grievance cases, long-term and short-term sickness absence management and any wellbeing concerns raised by employees or their managers.
  • Communicate with Occupational Health, to request reviews of employees returning from long-term sickness.
  • Provide advice, support, and guidance to managers around the probationary period of their direct reports.
  • Support managers through performance issues and reviews of their direct reports/employees.
  • Review HR data and communicate with the HR Manager/Head of HR with any discrepancies, patterns or concerns to develop action plans
  • Provide support to HR service centre with information they may require in order to support the HR in business team.
  • Advise employees regarding company policies.
  • Advise employees on other departments in the business that can support them (eg: fleet, expenses, payroll etc.)
  • Guide employees to the location of benefits information – pension etc.

 

About you

  • GSCE Maths & English
  • CIPD qualified (desirable)
  • 3 years experience in a HR environment
