How you will help us to make Zzoomm awesome….

Your main role will be to support the day to day activities of a team involved in the construction of FTTP networks in your designated area. Our regional People team have a pivotal role in establishing our local business capability, so this is a real hands-on role that covers the full spectrum of HR for the Northallerton area builds.


This role plays a particularly unique and pivotal role as it works with the central People leadership team to support Zzoomm’s UK hiring capability and ensures that it is meeting the strategic objectives of the business. The role is critical in mobilising our business, implementing people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

 

Who will guide me….?

You will report to the People Director daily and be a key member of the broader HR and People team. 

 

A day in the life of the HR Manager...

  • Full employee lifecycle role to lead all people aspects of your region’s builds.
  • Mobilise and set up a new region – all People related activity working closely with the central People team.
  • Recruitment activity - work with the internal Recruitment team to ensure all regional recruitment is completed on time and in budget.
  • Support the interview processes in conjunction with the Recruitment team and coordinate all onboarding and induction arrangements.
  • Provide advice and guidance on all People issues, policies and procedures to line managers and employees.
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of employment law and advise and coach managers on its practical implementation.
  • Roll out of Zzoomm policies and ways of working.
  • Work with the training team and central People team to coordinate all regional training activity.
  • Administration of employee benefits.
  • Payroll administration, input and notifications in conjunction with the People team and Finance.
  • Responsibility for all offboarding activities.
  • Accurate employee data input and management into the Bamboo HRIS.
  • Regular reporting on employee information and follow-up actions as required (e.g. right to work checks, probationary review meetings).
  • Ad-hoc People projects as required.

 

 What we need you to have….     

  • Used to working as a business partner delivering full suite HR locally, preferably from within a regional business.
  • Strong employee relations experience, applying solutions in a pragmatic way.
  • Recruitment experience, including onboarding in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills together with proven leadership capabilities and solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application.
  • Experienced in developing and supporting line managers through change.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced and growing organisation. Start-up experience is a plus.
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team.
  • Being educated to degree level is desirable. A CIPD qualification is also expected.
