People Administrator (Fixed Term)

We're looking for an experienced administrator to join our busy People team on a fixed term basis (12 months) to cover maternity leave.

You will provide an efficient and professional HR administration support to the various businesses, taking responsibility for routine and transactional activities such as data entry & reporting through our HRIS system (elemensuite).


We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, has great attention to detail and who is confident working within a busy commercial environment.


Typical duties will be:

  • To administer the HRIS system Wright People (elemensuite), entering relevant information in an accurate and timely manner
  • To produce HR reports as required
  • Drafting and placing adverts, acknowledging applicants, liaising with managers to organise interviews and offers etc. 
  • Administer the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with payroll where necessary
  • Provide day to day advice to managers and employees on general queries, Policies and Procedures, escalating more complex issues to the relevant People Partners 
  • Assist with note taking in meetings as required
  • Support with occupational health administration 
  • Ensure resignations are acknowledged in a timely manner and leavers process is correctly followed
  • Provide references in accordance with company policy as requested
  • Organise and facilitate work experience placements
  • Contribute to HR projects 
  • General administration support to the team. 


Essential skills and experience:

  • Administration experience of working in a busy and varied office environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Self-awareness and discretion when dealing with sensitive confidential information
  • Self-Motivated, desire to learn 
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work within teams and individually using own initiative
  • Service driven, ability to handle and resolve customer queries effectively 
  • Have the ability to prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage business expectations.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
  • Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • GCSE grade C or above in Math & English (or equivalent)
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK


Desirable skills and experience: 

  • Previous experience of working within a People / HR team
