The Role:

 

Reporting to the Director of HR, Retail Operations, you will play a critical role in developing & delivering the People plan in our Retail teams. You will be responsible for providing pragmatic, commercial and employee-focussed advice and support. You will utilise your excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills to drive employee engagement and manage change, ensuring that we retain motivated teams of employees who can deliver an excellent service to our customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Regional Managers to drive the People agenda that aligns to and supports the overall business objectives
  • Building capability of Retail Managers specifically in terms of their People Management skills, using HR frameworks and tools to drive engagement..
  • Monitor and measure the key people stats for your Region, driving an improvement through thoughtful initiatives and a people plan that drives line manager understanding, ownership and capability.
  • Offer commercially focused ER advice with employee engagement at the heart of everything you do.
  • Manage complex & high level employee relations cases inline with our policies and with a commercial focus
  • HR Data Management – Pulling HR data together for your Region, using metrics to improve performance
  • Partnering with the Talent and the L&D team to drive a learning and performance culture to support your Regional areas to achieve their goals
  • Work with the L&D team to ensure people managers understand and adhere to company policy & procedure
  • Advise and develop strategy from key HR metrics
  • Work with the wider people team to seek to continuously improve the value and quality of the People team service provided to the business

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • CIPD qualified (preferred) and/or experience of working within a People function
  • Proven HRBP experience within a fast-paced, multi-site retail/commercial environment
  • Ability to work with and influence all levels of employee, including senior leaders on issues varying strategic to operational/tactical
  • Ability to make sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems through building capability and not always providing the solution
  • Practical knowledge of UK Employment legislation
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all level of the business.
  • Ability to handle conflict whilst maintaining discretion
  • Confidentiality is at the core of everything you do.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the confidence to manage and anticipate expectations
  • A positive and proactive outlook to changing requirements
  • Self motivating and results driven, you are highly organised with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
