We are currently seeking a seasoned HR professional to fill a critical role within our Organisation: Head of People and Culture (Head of P&C).  Heading up the HR function, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring that we provide the best employee experience possible to our staff and to lead the organisation in effective interventions and engagement strategies, which enhance and maintain our unique culture.


The successful candidate will be a strategic leader and HR expert, they will also need to be hands on and operationally competent. The role is multifaceted, encompassing everything from talent management and employee relations to compliance and organisational development. Your impact is felt across the entire organisation, shaping its culture, driving performance, and ensuring its continued long-term success.

What you will be doing


Like many HR jobs, no two days are ever the same; however, an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:


-         To lead the People & Culture function and responsible for the provision of a high-quality HR advice and support provided to managers in relation to all areas of the employee lifecycle.

-         Act as a commercial and trusted advisor and partner to senior leaders and department heads, providing strategic HR guidance and support.

-         Recommend, design and deliver projects and interventions, inline with the business requirements and objectives.

-         Evolve, deliver and monitor the People & Culture Strategy, to ensure its alignment with LHCPG’s Business Plan, and which is developed, agreed and communicated to team members in a timely manner. 

-         Responsible for maintaining LHCPG’s unique culture, and ensuring that all departments are aligned through leading, educating and managing the mindsets and beliefs of the organisation through impactful and engaging initiatives.

-         Lead in the management and development of the Employee Forum (Connect) and staff wellbeing activity.  

-         Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify and address talent needs, succession planning, and organisational development opportunities.

-         Support the Board of Directors, in preparing recommendation report for Board, presenting at Board meetings, liaising with the Chair and other members of the Board and LHCPG to support with Board training and recruitment.

-         Developing a suite of metrics to assess the efficacy of the function to share insights and drive performance.


What you need


-         Demonstrable experience of working in Senior HR positions.

-         Fantastic communication skills both written and verbal

-         Excellent people skills with the ability to gain credibility. 

-         A passion for driving positive change and fostering a supportive work environment.

-         Experience of managing a busy and dynamic HR function.

-         Experienced working with senior management to support delivery of key organisational outcomes. 

-         Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change initiatives.

-         Project planning, management and implementation. 

-         Budget planning and management.  

-         Ability in building positive coaching relationships with managers and deliver performance and behavioural coaching.

-         Ability to develop capabilities and succession potential at all management levels of organisation. 

-         Experience managing complex projects and employee relations casework with multiple stakeholders.

-         Collaborative attitude, comfortable working in a close team environment  

-         To be an ambassador of the organisation and be a friendly and accessible point of contact for all LHCPG staff


What you get

·        Basic Salary: Scale POF, starting at £68,802

·        A non-contractual and discretionary annual bonus scheme is in place based on the achievement of personal and company targets
