HR Director

Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales, United Kingdom

We’re looking someone to join our team on a 14 month maternity cover (this may be extended to ensure a thorough hand over both ways).

You’ll be an experienced generalist with heaps of experience in building and developing both functional and leadership maturity. Experienced and confident at operating a board level you’ll cover:

Business as usual

Business for usual is pretty busy for us (we’re a team of two) so you’ll be rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in to support delivery (you can expect to be at least 50% operational). You’ll be providing full generalist leadership across the employee life cycle and key people practices from:

  • Overseeing and leading complex employee relations casework (disciplinary, capability etc);
  • Organisational design and restructures;
  • Recruitment and talent initiatives;
  • End to end engagement programme;
  • Reward and recognition activities;
  • Compensation and benefit guidance; salary review processes, bonus plans etc;
  • Oversee and reconcile payroll process to final approval stage (bureau).

You’ll also be a commercially astute and proactive business leader that collaboratively champions our people specialism across the board driving the local and global people plans. A whizz with excel you’ll bring your experience employee cost and FTE budgeting and forecasting, KPI’s and people metrics to ensure we deliver our financial targets.

Projects

It’s important to us that we continue to develop what we do so we can attract and retain the best people and there are plenty of projects to get your teeth stuck in to and apply to creativity to. If you have a bias towards change, learning and development or compensation and benefits it’ll come in really handy across:

  • Embedding our new business system (SAP – we go live in September 2024) through championing effective change and training programmes;
  • Leadership development;
  • Cultural handbook – from policies to principles (because we’re all adults here);
  • Compliance and governance – I know, it’s not our expertise but as a small team we all need to expand and adapt our typical scope.

Package:

Hybrid working – up to 2 days working from home (this will vary from 2 to 0 days depending on company needs)

Salary – up to £80k

Car allowance - £12,500 per annum
