At Valeo Foods UK, we're not just about making delicious snacks like Metcalf Popcorn and Manomasa Tortillas – we're about creating a workplace where every employee can thrive. With approximately 300 dedicated staff working around the clock, we need a skilled HR Manager to join us on a 4 month FTC, and ensure our team continues to flourish.


As the HR Manager, you'll be the go-to person for all things HR-related on site. Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you'll play a crucial role in providing support and guidance on employee relations matters, from disciplinary procedures to grievance meetings. You'll collaborate closely with department heads, ensuring HR policies are applied consistently and in line with legal requirements.


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and investigations.
  • Monitor absence trends and provide guidance on occupational health referrals and return-to-work cases.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and support them in applying HR policies and legislation effectively.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the central recruitment team on documentation and onboarding processes.
  • Ensure accurate payroll and KPI reporting, providing valuable analytics to the site leadership team.
  • Manage legal and regulatory aspects as required and support audits.
  • Support annual HR processes, including objective setting, talent mapping, and succession planning.
  • Assist in collective bargaining and employee engagement activities.


Role Requirements:


  • CIPD Qualified to at least Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proven HR Generalist experience, with expertise in employee relations, compliance, and talent management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Competent IT skills and familiarity with HR information systems.
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills.
  • Courageous, persuasive, and adept at building networks.
  • Ability to optimize work processes and drive results, even in challenging circumstances.
