People Manager

Role Purpose


Reporting to the VP, People, this new role will have a primary focus of supporting and developing our employees, prioritising their professional growth, and enhancing our peoples’ career journeys at Verdantix. We are looking for an individual with a solid generalist HR background but who is particularly passionate about people development and the importance of delivering engaging learning experiences across the organisation.

 

The People Manager will collaborate closely with our managers and senior leaders to execute strategies aimed at cultivating a supportive and inclusive workplace culture, while optimizing employees' abilities to drive the organization's success.


Main activities


People Operations:

  • Working with managers to understand and devise interventions to address the people-related needs of various teams and individuals across the organisation.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for employees, providing guidance and support on a wide range of people-related matters.
  • Leading initiatives to enhance and promote employee engagement across the organisation.
  • Providing practical and timely advice and support on all ER matters and overseeing the more complex ER issues.
  • Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create a workplace culture that values and respects differences and fosters belongingness for all employees.
  • Collaborating with talent acquisition colleagues to support recruitment and selection processes, ensuring we attract and onboard top talent.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and initiatives, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency gains with a particular focus on digitalisation.


People Development:

  • Supporting the design and delivery of training programmes across the organisation.
  • Driving the continued development of learning culture at Verdantix and working with the VP, People to design and deliver the L & D strategy.
  • Using knowledge of digital learning tools, brining innovative and creative ideas to transform the way we deliver learning interventions at Verdantix.
  • Working with the Executive Team to build management and leadership capabilities across the organisation. Identifying key opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to address skill gaps through suitable learning interventions.
  • Collaborating with the VP, People, to supervise the training budget and
  • spending activities to ensure that there is maximum impact delivered.
  • Supporting career discussions, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and coaching conversations, to support employees in achieving their full potential.
  • Developing new talent frameworks aimed at supporting the company to identify, retain and develop high potential employees.
  • Using KPI’s and analytics to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Conducting needs assessments and identifying learning gaps as part of wider workforce planning activities.
  • Generating ideas to enhance structured graduate career pathways and effective apprenticeships. 


Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge


  • Qualified to degree level or above. CIPD qualified level 5 or level 7, or equivalent post-graduate HR degree desirable.
  • A proven track record of success as a people generalist, minimum of 5 years' experience including management of ER cases.
  • Up to date understanding of UK employment legislation essential, US employment legislation knowledge is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders of all levels, including exec team, function heads, managers, and external training providers.
  • Exposure to the development, design and delivery of successful training programs aligned to organisation goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in learning and development.
  • Experience of supporting apprenticeship and graduate programmes.
  • Demonstrate a steadfast dedication to progressing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
  • Exposure to talent management best practices and development of talent management frameworks.
  • Previous experience using HR data and analytics to inform decision making and people strategy.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS and Learning Management Systems (LMS) tools and technology.
  • Solid experience using Microsoft 365 applications
